Love Her or Hate Her Thanks for Coming

I have been dared on the comments to leave them up and I will as I believe this is a free country! :o) The only thing that I ask is that you keep it clean. Please, also remember Governor Sarah Palin is a servant to Alaska and to our country and I ask you to remember that and to be respectful of that. It's ok to disagree with the issues but there is no reason to be nasty.

I would also like to add that we are not the ladies from the CNN interview. That said, we don't have a bible study group, we are wahms (work at home moms) and frankly while I think Governor Palin could have coffee with us and talk to us about our lives and understand where it is we are coming from, I clearly feel that I'm not in her league. Unlike many of Governor Palin's critics, I would never dismiss her job as governor of a state with a "small" population as one that any moron can do. I believe her to be a very intelligent woman who does her job well and served it's people well.

Since, someone left a comment about "hockey mom" and "Joe Sixpack", to that I say that General Patton often spoke to people in a way that he could relate to them. It's part of leadership. I'm willing to bet good money that when she was negotiating with those big oil companies she didn't use "dog gone it" at any time in the meetings. I think it shows a lack of intelligence and small mindedness in her critics that they cannot see what is clearly in front of them and resort to calling her names. She is an all American girl and some of us are still proud to be Americans.

The blog mentioned in the CNN interview is at http://moms4sarahpalin.blogspot.com/

Thanks for coming by and God bless America!

This entry discusses my, and many people's, disgust and frustration of the Republican Party and hard-core right-wingers. The main topics include the war on terror, financial irresponsibility, the misuse of religion, American principals and the American way of life. It is my argument that although conservatives pretend to be the defenders of American tradition(s), they are anything but. It is my hope, however futile it may be, to show the error in way(s) of approximately 50% of the American public. It is also intent to point out how conservatives use scare tactics intimidate a large amount of people into voting or keeping them in power through lies and deception.

Near and dear to my heart is the war in Iraq. I served in the Army for eight and one-half years, nearly six of which were active duty. I have been deployed in Bosnia, Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq. It should be obvious that, in the last eight years of a Bush-led republican administration, that America's standing in the world has diminished. The war in Iraq is one of the major reasons why. It is not a secret that the war was originally entitled "Operation: Cobra Strike II". Not only is it not a very clever name, it refers to a preemptive strike against Saddam and Iraq under the assumption that they possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction intended to be used against the U.S. and/or her allies.

Suddenly, when W.M.D.s were nowhere to be found, the name changed to "Operation Iraqi Freedom". Who are we kidding folks? That war was never about freedom. Secondly, Saddam was certainly not a major threat to the United States. He was desperately trying to hold on to what little he had left. This is not mere speculation; while in Baghdad, I spoke with hundreds of Iraqi people. Not only was it evident with my own eyes, this came straight from the horse's mouth, as the expression goes.

I am by no means defending the likes of Saddam Hussein. However, conservatives justify the war by claiming to care so much that young Americans need to lay down their lives in order to spread their agenda abroad, thus spreading democracy and capitalism. One may argue that it conveniently may spread Christianity. Here's the problem: the premise is that our way of life is better, so we are going to force it upon you; it's for your own good. I ask you this... how many people, countries or governments feel the same way about you? Are we saying that they should form a coalition and attack us? Isn't that how we became involved in the War on Terrorism?
If I'm not mistaken, September the 11th was a group of people that felt America was too greedy and immoral... so they attacked us. In theory, I'm not real clear on the difference between Bin Laden and George Bush. Both are overly religious, and both are willing to use violence to spread their ideology.

I would also like to know why "Hockey Moms" and "Joe six-packs" are the last people on earth to realize that the war in Iraq is about money and power. Where do you think Bush and Chenney are going after public office? I highly doubt it is the peacecore. They will go back to Haliburton and the oil business. If any stands to benefit from the war, it's them and their friends (A.K.A. The Military-Industrial Complex). The Bush family has moved all their investments to Saudi Arabia, then they want to bomb the infrastructure of the neighboring oil-producing nations? Yea, big mystery! Apparently, this is acceptable as long as it's done in the name of Jesus.
Before you pull that lever in November for the Palin ticket, please think of the 4,000 young Americans that have lost their lives... or the next 4,000.

I personally am sick of my friends dying over conservative ideology. Everyone wants to say that to admit we were wrong or to pull out of Iraq now is dishonoring those who have died, or various other reasons to fool the public. Our service members died for their buddy next to them. There is nothing dishonorable about wanting to bring them home before their other buddies die. Seriously people, that war was and is about Oil and big business, such as Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, etc. You are not offending me or my lost friends by admitting this. "Waiving the white flag of surrender"? Please. They just don't want you waiving the white flag for profits.

I also fail to understand why people are not more aware of, and stand for, a shock doctrine. The Republicans are using terrorist attack(s) and natural disasters to exploit this country for their own personal or political gain. They are using these shocks to build up the security industry. It should be no shock that Rudy Giuliani left public service to that industry. They also used the war in Iraq to privatize our government, transferring public money into private hands, and recently transferring private debt into public hands. These despicable ways have been referred to as “Disaster Capitalism”. Amidst the Katrina crisis, Republican Congressman Richard Baker said “we could not clean out the public housing, but God did!” I think we all know what that means… racism, and prejudice against the poor. The Republicans let their friends speculate on housing, then want the American taxpayer to bail them out?

Since it is highly related, we need to discuss religion. This country was founded for freedom. Obviously, this includes the freedom of religion, NOT oppression by religion. Preachers have NO business telling you who to vote for. This is why the U.S. provides the separation of Church and State. One of the several reasons this country was founded was because 1700s England did not have this separation, one had to live by the King's religion. If you want to be a religious nut… fine, but leave the rest of us alone! No one is trying to push Buddhism, Hinduism, Zionism, are any other ism or “anity” on you, so please stop doing it to other people. It is against why this country was founded.

Also, there is what some have referred to as The American Jesus. Please stop using Jesus as an excuse! It is amazing how many people vote solely on which candidate is or pretends to be more of a holy roller. I've read the Holy Bible quite a few times, and I do not recall it ever saying to bomb an abortion clinic, join the KKK, hate muslins or gays, or invade other countries. There seems to be an incredibly large amount of people that need to reread their own religious teachings. I do, however, remember it saying to love thyne neighbor (not just the white one's that agree with you), to help the poor, and to love and forgive your enemies.

This hypocracy also includes country music. I am sickened by the endless armies of redneck drones who keep talking about "freedom" in countless country songs. Please explain how racism and ignorance is indicative of freedom? Thomas Jefferson and other founders of this country said that knowledge is imperative to a democracy. Forcing your will on other counties is not freedom, its called oppression… buy a dictionary.

With the economy is shambles, here is a big one... the economy! Within two years, George W. Bush and the republicans managed to screw up Clinton's years of surplus budget, which was the first time this nation made a profit in a long, long time. It should bother the American people that we owe China, and other nations, a ridiculous amount of money. I for one am not for China having leverage over me. Meanwhile, Bush made it harder for people to fill bankruptcy... oh the irony! Bush and McCain make light of Obama's health-care plan, saying that it will cost too much. Seriously? This is coming from people who think we should spend billions upon billions (if not trillions) invading other countries. Do we really need a balloon that sends Rock and Roll to Cuba? I can think of better things to do with ten million dollars a year.

Speaking of which, I am also sickened by the Republican every-man-for-himself health care. However, I guess that if one is rich, one could have an interest in keeping their fellow man down. It is ridiculous that with the money the Republicans have spent on an unjust war (Iraq) that we could end poverty in The United States of America. Instead of taking care of homeless veterans, the Republicans would apparently rather create more homeless veterans. I for one am sick of the Military-Industrial Complex. President Eisenhower practically warned that it could ruin this country, yet over 50 years later… people are still not listening.

This also ties back to earlier when I mentioned religion. For a group of people that are generally very "religious", they sure don't give a crap about people. The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer. We are talking about a party who cares about nothing more than lining their pockets as they give hand outs to big corporations, while receiving incentives from lobbyist.
I must have missed the quote where Jesus said "If you scratch my back, then I'll scratch yours". So seriously people, cut the crap! It is disguisting that the nation with the largest Gross National Product still has poverty. Books... not bombs.

Time and time again, I keep hearing the Republicans use Ronald Reagan as a battle cry, imply that Obama would cause Reagan to roll over in his grave... or this economic plan would be the coffin on top of the coffin of Ronald Reagan, and so on and so forth. What was so damn great about Ronald Reagan? Anyone that thinks so should talk to the union workers or the working man. He was however a poster child for an unregulated economy, which is great for big business. However I'm pretty certain that most of us do not own an oil company, nor are we involved in the Military-Industrial Complex. If anyone is rolling over in their grave, it’s Abraham Lincoln.

Right now, perhaps the greatest point I could make is Sarah Palin. She has little to no concept of politics, economy, or reality. It should scare the hell out of people that she, if elected, is a heart-beat away from being the most powerful person on Earth. What amazes me even more is how many women adore, or at least support, her. She should make you sick. Women, if you complain about society expecting you to look beautiful, but society thinks you are intellectually inferior... you are not helping anything by supporting Sarah Palin. She is a puppet with lipstick, and she is dangerous. Why you ask? Please refer to the rest of this blog.

She was picked for McCain's VP candidate in order to pretend that the Republicans are a party for others than rich, old white guys. She was selected in order to get the votes of women and Hillary supporters. If you agree with Hillary Clinton, how in God's name could you support the opposite ideology? Palin is not a champion for female equality, nor is she a champion for education or anything else which should concern female voters. I highly doubt that top female issues include gun ownership, failed health care systems, or invading countries. I have a question for Sarah Palin: Ms. Palin, when you are finished raping my country and my freedom, are you going to make it pay for its own rape kit?

Strangely, the man who is probably the biggest threat to freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is not John McCain or George Bush… it is Bill O’Reilly. I’ve heard some pretty stupid and ignorant things in my life, but nothing tops when I hear people say that FOX is the only network without an agenda. How do people agree with the hateful, oppressive, and ignorant things that come out of his mouth? He is perhaps more dangerous than Rush. Of course, he has a right to be on the air just like anyone else, but do the world a favor and don’t watch him or the Fox Network; the future may depend on it.

In conclusion… STOP THE MADNESS! I would like for my kids to inherit the greatest nation the world has ever seen; not a bankrupt, freedom less, polluted shithole. I believe in the American Dream, not the "Haves" and "Have-nots". The Republicans would like us to believe that such talk is Communist, or anti-American. I have been a soldier, a policeman, and a firefighter… not a communist. If anyone is fascist here, it’s the Republicans. It is ironic that a group of people that pretend to be so American and so religious fail to live by their own preaching's. I for one do not fall for scare tactics. If I hear 9/11 as another excuse for stupidity, I believe I might pull my hair out. Also, the Democrats are not going to take everyone's guns away. We all posses a brain, I implore you to start using it. Anyone that believes McCain will be any different than the last eight years will likely be sadly mistaken.

Wow. Way to think about the big picture. Palin's a foolish pawn. You think deep down the GOP cares about you? Haha. You are doing exactly what the campaign is banking on, they chose Palin because she is a woman, and that's it. If Hillary had not come so close to being the Dem. hopefull, I guarantee that there would be two men on the GOP ticket right now. You have fallen for the Rovian tactics that got Bush elected twice. Fear and pandering to the ignorance of the largely stupid US population. For the sake of your kids, wake up and question these "mavericks."

I'm a conservative. I believe in law and order, not taking all the cops off the highway and deregulating everything. Have any Republican's ever actually read Adam Smith??? This is the Gilded Age all over again with the same consequences, millions without jobs while the rich are fighting to own the longest yacht (see the magazine yachts and boating about the current frenzy to build ever-bigger yachts... it's sickening). McCain made a super cynical move to put Palin on to re-energize the worst elements of the Republican party. Now they are physically threatening Obama. That's great. Shades of Robert Kennedy and King. Same old emotional craziness. We have to regulate each other to keep eachother strong and to do the right thing especially with the temptation of billions of dollars is present. We can't just deregulate. This has been proven time and again but there is no honesty or soul searching here by Republicans. The media is also not talking about the Silverado Savings and loan disaster in Oklahoma and Texas back in the mid-80's which the Bush family was personally involved in and which we the tax payers are still paying for. It was a huge bailout. It was the SAME Reaganite deregulation policy only McCain, who was one of the Reagan worshipers who rode Reagan's coat tails into the House of Reps, and the Bushs have now made it national and international in scale. Same actions, same results. We must begin to learn. We can't just keep being so stubborn and prideful and wreck the country. This is the Silverado debacle all over again only on a much much larger scale. This is the bankruptcy of the Republican philosophy. We've seen this before but there is no learning curve, no self-evaluation, just stupid cheering and chanting of ideological cliches as the ship sinks. We need real change. Reagan was taught economics by GE mid-level MBA's/hacks when he had no job and they hired him to give motivational speeches around their plants for them. They found a relative economic illiterate to use for their propaganda purposes. He was so ambitious and extreme that he attacked his own party's encumbant Ford who was a wise and decent man. He left our economy in a shambles. What brought down the Berlin Wall? Not Reagan. Try the Pope, the trade unions such as Solidarity in Poland, and finally what made it collapse was the nuclear power plant disaster. Reagan was just in office when it finally collapsed under its own rusty weight. Every president held firm against them and waited them out. In fact Reagan's "star wars" almost scared them into a reactionary stance so that Yeltsen had to fight off a resurgence of conservatives in his own congress firing on the congressional building in Moscow. Do you guys know any of this? Really. Honestly. Honestly. Bush number one fixed some of Reagan's mess but when he saw the extent of the mess he had to break his promise of no new taxes and the "conservatives" abandoned him. Conservatives believe in paying their bills and in law and order... not loosing the crooks on the civilians. Clinton built on Bush number one's efforts and left us in okay shape but Bush Jr., McCain, Grahm, Delay, Gingrich and others have wrecked us. It is pure corporate greed and an ideology that looses the crooks on us which is destroying small businesses and real capitalism. For the sake of our kids and grandkids we can't afford to play in fantasy land anymore. We have to have meritocracy and discipline. Palin is at best a follower, not a leader. You guys want honesty. You have to honestly put opinions aside, do lots of hard homework, then take a stand. What's missing is knowledge. That takes hard work... reading... lots of it. We can't keep putting forth marginally illiterate people and expect to stay ahead of the rest of the world. We have been coasting on Roosevelt's legacy which gave us the prosperity including his "socialist" GI bill that payed for soldiers to go to college (an idea that was ridiculed by the military royalty like McCain's grandfather and MacCarther) which catapulted our economy. Now we've squandered that legacy. It's all gone. Reality is smacking us in the face.

I understand that one of the main functions of the VP candidate in both parties may be to act as the attack dog, and I have no issue with that. I am curious, though, how those who are Palin fans rectify Gov. Palin going after Sen. Obama for "pallin' around with a terrorist," while at the same time addressing a group and being married to a member of the same group that advocates the overthrow of the US Goverment in Alaska and the succession of Alaska from the United States.

My name is Kathleen, I love Jesus because He saved me from a life of hell, and as a result I have been married for 17 years to the father of our two purely beautiful girls who are 11 and 14 years old.

Our fourteen year old has chosen to wear a purity ring to represent her commitment of abstinence. Our 10 year old stays busy with community service projects and hopes to be an organizer someday so she has no time to look in any wrong places or inflict nastiness. There is so much more to them but I must stop bragging to get to my point. Soon...

My role, before kids, had me designing, implimenting, and leading the Customer Service Department of a nationwide corporation. Since many of it's clientelle lie over the ponds, I was able to enjoy extensive international travel and loved it.

When God blessed us with our first born, I recorgnized her as a gift and unwilling to give her away to be raised by someone else (daycare, babysitters, nanny, grandma) so I chose to leave my career behind me and be a real mom. Heart and soul. I sold my suits, my leather shoes and briefcase, my corvette, some jewelary, and our home to move into a 1400 square foot cottage. My husband who is a praying man worked out ways to support us and through our decision, we became far richer than we ever imagined one could be.

The aformentioned experiences have given me the wisdom and knowledge to know that there is really only
one ticket that should become our next President and VP and their names are OBAMA/BIDEN!!!

It bewilders me to see a website like this built with such ignorance. Do you not see the difference between a team who preaches war (bomb, bomb, bomb Iran-is this a dispicable joke?)and "the other" who preaches peace and negotiations. A team who is hot headed and erratic and the other who is calm and cool under fire. A team who rallies prejudice, judgement, and violence to the other who rallies for problem solving and proposes real solutions. A team who lies to avoid the issues that they know nothing about, and those who are intelligent and clear and real.

SSSSSSSSSarah is a self proclaimed Christian mom who has jumped ship on her family for more power to abuse, fame, and a new hairdoo. She lusts for it. She's hitting the campaign trail while leaving them in the dust to meet Joe six pack. Did you not see her uncomfortable grasp of her SPECIAL NEEDS SON while she paraded him around the debate stage at 11pm!Then she gave him back to her PREGNANT TEENAGE DAUGHTER to care for him?! Who's special needs is she fulfilling? Any other mom would be dealing with Child Services. Don't even get me started on being a good steward and following the laws of our land. You do READ your bibles, doncha sisters?

My comfort is in the way the Lord shows Palin failin. Oopsy daisey, did I leave offa g. You betcha!
She is falling fast and hard ladies.

And as for you sisters who really don't get it, you are a pack of non sensical idiots who are not smart enough to be called pit bulls. For dogs are a much better judge of character.

The fact is that Senator McSenile chose a cross between the animated Betty Boop and Lucifer, to VP our country! She's a self centered, master of confusion, winkin liar so please take the telephone pole out of your eyes before you visit the booths and be real Christian moms.

P.S I don't condone abortions but like God, I belive in freedom of choice. Maybe if their were more parents parenting, we'd see kids making less bad choices. Get that?

Here are a few questions, asked honestly, because I really want to know. They are not meant to sound nasty. If they do, I apologize. They are valid questions, and they deserve answers: If she is honest, why is she stonewalling the "Troopergate" investigation? What does she have to hide? If she is law-abiding, why did she have her husband and staff ignore subpoenas, which is illegal? If she is honest, why does she conduct government business on private email? What does she have to hide? If she is Christian, why are her comments delivered to stir anger and hatred in her audience, until they shout, "Kill him!!"? What would Jesus think if he could hear her? If she is Christian, why does she insult someone for being a community organizer? Isn't that a Christian value? If she is an American, who believes in freedom and democracy, why would she even ASK about banning books? If she is a Christian, why would she associate with a pastor who preaches hatred of Jewish people? If she is qualified to be vice president or president, why won't she talk to reporters? Why won't she go on the Sunday talk shows, and discuss issues and answer questions so the American people can get to know her? If she is not a bully, why does she have a history of firing people who won't do everything she wants? Here is one last question for her supporters: I know you all love her because she is just like us, and you would feel comfortable having her in your house for coffee, but how does that make her qualified for the toughest job in the world? Don't you want your leaders to be educated, competent, and able to discuss any issue at any time, with any one?!?! Have her over to your house for coffee, but please don't put her anywhere near the White House.

I have had the privledge of studying the propaganda machine leading up to the rise of Nazi Germany. I say "privledge" because it gives me insight into the emotional appeal and danger of nationalism in light of real economic and social issues facing our country.

Palin and now, sadly McCain, proclaim that if you are not for the surge in Iraq then you are unAmerican. If you do not support drilling in Alaska then you do not support American energy independece and that is unAmerican. AND, the last thing they want you to believe is that hanging around with terrorists is unAmerican and Obama is linked to terrorism. Now, that is not only morally wrong to make those links but it is dangerous.

People, study your history. It is all there. In hard times, people look for scapegoats and they create new enemies so you can hurl your anger and frustration at them.

Palin is dangerous for our country and our civil liberties because she will use any means possible to gain the Whitehouse. In other words, the end game justifies the means. With her recent attacks on Obama's unAmerican-ness she and the Republicans now exibit behavior fitting of those who created the propaganda machine of Nazi Germany.

Read history and be careful to be stirred by emotional appeals to your American-ness by looking at the issues in terms of black and white.

She is a simple woman and her thinking is simiple. We live in a complex world that needs thoughtful, deliberate and rational decision makers. She is not one of them.

Here is the thing that is sad about supporters for Sarah Palin: Whether you are willing to admit it or not, you are only allowed (by your husbands) to have an opinion of the world, because she supports the fool your husbands are voting for. You would have gladly voted for Hilary, except your husbands are not democrats, and you were damned to vote for a black man, because…well…let’s be honest…that would have gotten you into even more hot water, right?

So, along comes a lipstick flinging, "hockey mom" from some who gives a damn township in Alaska, and now you are all finally allowed to watch CNN. Whether you are allowed to admit it yourselves or not, you are the Quintessential "trophy wives," who are as hollow as any trophy your egotistical “bread-winners” have been steal. And, if it turns out your opinions actually matter in this race, I'll feel truly sorry for this country.

You really don't have a clue what's going on in the race, anymore than you're aware of what's been going on in this country for the last 8 years. Even as some (I won’t say many) of your children have gone off to war, you still haven’t been able to grasp the reality of what this current president or McCain intends for our countrymen. Why? Because your husbands have not allowed you to have an actual opinion.

I visited Florida. It is a sad, backwoods state, and I am not surprised this website originated there.

God forgive you.

I completely respect our rights as human beings, and even more so as women. In this country everyone is protected by the same constitutional rights. However, we all have the right to exercise those rights as well! I believe we, as women, have made great strides towards the White House, and will continue to do so. But the first woman I want to see in the White House will be a woman that is actually for ALL the WOMEN in this great nation! Dictating women's reproductive rights, education, and religion is not the answer to a fair and just society. In fact, it is hundreds of steps backwards. Many women have fought with tooth and nail to give women the option of having a career inside or outside the home - both very admirable choices- but note that CHOICE is the operative word. It is because we have fought so hard to have the choice that we have gained so much in life today. I may not choose to have an abortion, you may not choose to have an abortion, nor may our mothers, daughters, or sisters. But we owe the women of this country, the women who grace our neighborhoods, schools, and grocery stores the right to choose! If a woman wants to have an abortion after she was raped, then let her. If she needs an abortion due to health concerns, then let her. And bottom line, if she just feels an abortion is the best choice for her, then let her make that CHOICE! We as women have the beautiful ability to give birth to the human race, however our brains have advanced science as well. This is all a part of evolution and we now must stand by our right to choose.
Now, you choose the candidate that is right for all women, men, and children alike. Who do you think is protecting your constitutional rights?
About me: I was raised in a conservative military family, I lived in five different states and three different countries, and I recently completed my master's degree in Higher Education. I am 26 years old, and I am for Obama.

Palin is supposed to represent "race car fans," "soccer moms," "walmart moms"-like democrats with brains cannot be in this category. It is just ridiculous. I saw that Palin got booed at a NHL game. I guess the fans thought she did not represent who they were. Even the appearance of her two children as human shields, could not quiet the audience. Though I feel sorry for her kids,Palin needed to get the message loud and clear-hatred, racism, and fear have NO place in the election process. I feel sorry for McCain; he once was a hero now he is a ZERO!
