A London Daily Mail Editorial on Obama's victory

I could not believe this came from an English newspaper. Leave it to the creators of the language, the English, to express distinctly what happened in the election of Obama. We all should examine who, how and why this cult of personality was created. Obama doesn't have a clue about what he is about to undertake. This individual could not have gotten a security clearance if he had joined the military service. Now he is about to be the Commander in Chief of the U.S. armed forces.

A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.

A victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion.

Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.

A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.

A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.

Congratulations, America!

“In Convention Monday, September 17th, 1787.

The States of
New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, MR. Hamilton from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
Resolved,
That the preceeding Constitution be laid before the United States in Congress assembled, and that it is the Opinion of this Convention, that it should afterwards be submitted to a Convention of Delegates, chosen in each State by the People thereof, under the Recommendation of its Legislature, for their Assent and Ratification; and that each Convention assenting to, and ratifying the Same, should give Notice thereof to the United States in Congress assembled. That after such Publication the Electors should be appointed, and the Senators and Representatives elected: That the Electors should meet on the Day fixed for the Election of the President, and should transmit their Votes certified, signed, sealed and directed, as the Constitution requires, to the Secretary of the United States in Congress assembled, that the Senators and Representatives should convene at the Time and Place assigned; that the Senators should appoint a President of the Senate, for the sole purpose of receiving, opening and counting the Votes for President; and, that after he shall be chosen, the Congress, together with the President, should, without Delay, proceed to execute this Constitution.

Thus England’s previous occupation was mitigated in 1787.
Good reading that ole’ U.S. Constitution. Well thought out and concise. Yet to be fully ratified (hint: part of the protection of the constitution is the blessed inability to again ratify the constitution & insists this convention must never again be completed or a new constitution can then be changed again by others in any manner) means carrying out those instructions, by those empowered to do so, and is demanded to be allowed to happen when those ‘hold out’ states ratify finally. Oh and your vote? It never really counts much when the constitution ends this very unanimous way. Oprah had no voice – only opinion - just like all other citizens.

I can see very well why the 69 members of the ‘cult of cults’ (The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) is a committee of the European Parliament) might end up talking about the United States of America, its culture and its diligence of due process in this manner. Since 9 members (the majority) are French, should we then look to France as the originator or controlling European voice? Surely the no European countryman stands as the states here cannot, as the President of our United States. I have pledged by free will to uphold this Constitutional Rule of Law and its President, from enemies – both foreign and domestic – just as we are all required to do. I pledged in sworn honor before a military of our nation to follow its words. That is our job as a citizen. Our military faithfully completes the requirement at all times. I got my security clearance with no problem, even as an unknown 18 year old screw up living in dixie.

So where's the link for this story in the 'London Daily Mail' then ?. Actually, this story comes from a columnmist in the Toronto Sun in Novemeber 2008
http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/michael_coren/2008/11/08/7344746-sun.html
There again, Sarah Palin probably thinks that London & Toronto are next to each other considering her appalling geographic knowledge.

This is a typical Phishing article used to get someone's opinion circulated under the cover of one of England's best newspapers.
I E-mailed the London Daily Mail at ... feedback@dailymail.co.uk .. and received a reply from them that it was not written by them nor published by them.
One must always VERIFY stuff like this before posting it anywhere. To not do so is just plain wrong.
If one has an opinion on something like this, have the nerve to put your own name on it.
Do not hide behind the cover of a reliable source in order to give it an air of creditability.
for a true Daily Mail Article, read this.

To add to bahtah's comments...This is actually written by a person named Michael Coren who is an am radio 'personality' on a show named "Two Bald Guys With Strong Opinion" and hosts a show on a Christian-based Canadian television show in Toronto, Canada... never heard of him... but did a google on him.. per Wiki, he sounds like a real class act?!?!? But it is the kind of message that "Moms for Palin"-like groups want to hear. And as his history suggests (e.g. getting fired for having scripted guests), anything for ratings!

Wow, I'm glad to finally find some reliable sources for where this article came from. Funny, I didn't exactly expect to find the information here ...

I've had the drivel up on my blog for some time claiming that it's a hoax (at least the link to the Daily Mail and to Britain), but noone's been able to identify the source yet. I'll add the information posted here to my blog.
