The MSM is hardly telling the whole story on this so I found a lady in Alaska that could tell me what was going on up there. Here is her take on it.
There is soooo much misinformation going around right now.
For instance:
1. Sarah did not fire Monegan. She removed him from one job and placed him in another and he quit.
2. This is an AT WILL state, meaning she does not need a reason to fire anyone in her cabinet, of which Monegan was a part.
3. This is the kind of trooper we're talking about: A man who goes to the bar and leaves drunk, driving his patrol car home; a man who poaches a moose (the rest of us would have had to go to court and face a judge - he simply had to face his boss, Monegan), he used his state issued taser gun to taser his 11 year old step-son, and he threatened virtually everyone in the Palin family -- Sarah, Sarah's sister (his ex-wife), Sarah's father, and Sarah's 15 year old daughter with their lives. He stalked Sarah on the campaign trail (back when she was running for Governor), saw her in a grocery store and followed her yelling "I wouldn't work for you, you F***ing B**ch". These (and others, I'm sure) were the reasons Sarah and Todd were concerned about this man continuing his job as an Alaska State Trooper. Monegan did not see a problem with this man - one who is hired to uphold the law!!! The fact that the commission feels Sarah abused her power by not stopping her husband, Todd, from speaking to Monegan about Trooper Wooten is ridiculous!!! I think it shows extreme restraint on Todd's part. I think there is a good portion of men who would have handled this situation on their own, especially after trying to go through the proper channels and getting nowhere.
4. Hollis French, the senator who called for and headed the investigation, is a democrat, has been very critical of Sarah since she took office, basically nitpicking everything she has done, and had announced his intention to run for Governor in 2008. In my opinion, he was using this to further his career, not investigate this issue, which really is a non-issue since, once again, Alaska is an at-will state.

The thing is that everything you wrote has already been presented in the MSM, and no one (but the Palin-deranged kool-aid drinkers) believes it. Sorry, why should anyone trust you, quoting an anonymous Alaskan over the Republican-led Alaskan legislature? It's ludicrous for you to suggest that any rational person would.
1. That was a demotion.
2. I thought you said he was "transferred" and not fired. The reason can still be unethical and will be adressed in the proper forum.
3. Of course you are exaggerating these as these allegations would have been addressed more severely. It did not come up and was never even said by Palin so how come you make this up now? Is this part of the strategy of going negative as elections are nearing?
4. Come on, it was a bipartisan investigation even before Palin was selected to be McCain's VP. Open your eyes.
doyoubelieve:
1. She did not fire Monegan. She removed him from one position and placed him in another. Yes...he was demoted; however he was not fired.
2. Members of the cabinet "serve at the leisure of the Governor." The Governor does not need "a reason" to fire a member of her cabinet.
3. No I am NOT exaggerating or making this up! Trooper Wooten's disciplinary file has been made public. Feel free to look into it for yourself. The fact that you question me shows how strange it is that a member of law enforcement carried on in this manner and kept his job. Imagine how the Palins feel!
4. While the investigation began prior to Sarah Palin receiving the republican VP nomination, it took on a life of its own once she received the nomination. Those involved in the investigation (Hollis French, in particular) were decidedly gleeful to be in the national spotlight and appeared to take great delight in their roles in "bringing down the Governor" (remember she ruffled A LOT of feathers up here confronting the "Good 'Ole Boy Network and corruption).
Lastly, the democrats would have you believe it was a bipartisan investigation, however, that is simply not true!
A little perspective about moose poaching: Last week, after a 2 day trial, a Fairbanks man was convicted of illegally killing a moose. His sentencing has not been scheduled, but he faces 6 months in jail and a $5000.00 fine. Far different treatment than Wooten received!
Merge Divide, might I suggest you pull your head out of the sand instead of calling those of us who see and believe the facts (even Wooten admitted to all of the allegations on CNN) "Palin-deranged kool-aid drinkers"?
