Whatever happened to ethics and unbias reporting? I was watching Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer this morning and all I could do is stand there with my mouth wide open. I'm shocked at the way Sawyer and her colleagues reported on the story about Gov. Palin's daughter Bristol.
First and foremost they are out of bounds reporting on the story. I have to say that I have great respect for Obama saying that this issue is "off limits". ABC News has overstepped their boundaries. In my opinion, the ABC network and other media owes Gov. Palin's daughter and family an apology.
The fact that her daughter is pregnant only solidifies how I feel that she could understand the typical American family and be representative of my own struggles as an average citizen.
I'm further appalled that Charlie Gibson and ABC News ran a story called "Hookers and Blow" about a RNC party. Wow, what a headline! The headline was misleading to say the least. The headline simply came from a band that was playing at one of the clubs RNC delegates where at. They were talking about how they couldn't believe people were partying while the nation was faced with the likes of Gustav. Well, I can tell you that I, myself, feel that the government did all the could to move people out of harms way, to provide for them and to bring public awareness of the situation and ask for donations and volunteers. I don't blame them for "partying", life doesn't stop going and this is an election year. This thing happens every four years and it' "their time". I played with my kids, read a book, surfed the web. What was I suppose to be doing?
On the flip side of this there are other things going on in our world, like the War in Iraq, and nobody talked about the DNC throwing their parties.
I'm outraged by what the media is doing now, and what they did to Sen. Hillary Clinton.
I also have to add that I was never even interested much in politics until I started watching George Stephanopoulos. The passion he always showed got me interested. But even he has disappointed me on this one.
